Pastor, Justin Colquette
Justin was born in Terrell, Texas and raised in Oak Grove, Louisiana but returned to the Forney area as fast as he could. He spent 12 years in the Army National Guard as well as 11 years in the HVAC construction industry before being called by God into the Gospel ministry in 2001. Justin graduated from Criswell College in 2006 and became the associate pastor of youth and education for Galloway Avenue Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas. In 2009 Justin came to First Baptist Wortham as our part-time youth pastor until he became the senior pastor in 2011.
Justin was married to his wife Karen January 5th 1991, and he has three children: Dylan, and wife Scarlett, Devon, and Ana. His favorite hobbies are hunting and fishing.
Director of Music
Kevin and his family purchased land outside of Wortham and began building a cabin to escape from big city life on weekends and holidays in 2016. They never intended to move to “Russell Ranch” permanently, but God had a different plan for them; they fell in love with country living and the Wortham community. So, they decided to leave San Antonio and move to Wortham in June of 2018. Kevin teaches band at Wortham ISD and his wife, Stephanie, teaches Reading and Art at Wortham Junior High. They have two children, Emory and Brecker. Kevin’s hobbies include playing music, golf, coaching his kids’ sports teams, and taking care of all things and animals associated with Russell Ranch. In the fall of 2021 Kevin took over as Director of Music at FBC Wortham and is loving bringing a combination of old hymns and new praise songs into every service.
Associate Children Minister
Cheri Spencer has headed up our children ministry since the summer of 2000. She is passionate about seeing kids come to know God in a personal way. She uses a calm calculated approach, on Wednesday nights, and for VBS, to ensure a safe environment for our children.
Cheri has ben married to Scott Spencer since the summer of 1987. They have two kids Kelli Ann and husband Kelly Toney, and son Hance. As well as two grand sons Smith and Wesson.
Secretary
Cindy Canizales has served at our church since February of 2017. She is always on top of her work, keeping the rest of the staff in order. Cindy is an encouragement to our church and staff. Cindy is also a big part of our local community, and is a local Wortham graduate. She loves serving our community, and has holds many titles in the City of Wortham.
Cindy will finnsh a degree in business in may of 2019.
She has been married to Gabriel since the spring of 2008. They have five kids: Caleb, Sarah, Nathaniel, Julian, and Gabriela.
