Sunday Afternoon, Oct 18, 2025 – Recognition for 100/150 Years of the First Baptist Church of Wortham Service to God, Family, Country and Community. Host of the Ceremony was Deacon Bill Capers and Pastor James (Jim) Albin.

Deacon Bill delivered a power statement to the congregation:

"What we do, we do to bring glory to God. He expects us – His people to reflect and remember what he’s done.

Remember His promises and follow His word.

As we celebrate 150 years – It is not about us.

This occasion is to celebrate what God has accomplished through His faithful believers. We must, love God with all our hearts, mind and strength. We must love our neighbors as our selves.

Because of this love, we must “Go and make disciples” in accordance with Matthew 28:18-20. If we are faithful and follow this command this body of Believers will be here another 150 years proclaiming Jesus to a lost world."

Deacon Bill proclamation is both a reminder and a charge.

“What we do, we do to bring glory to God."

He calls His people to reflect on His mighty works, to remember His promises, and to walk faithfully in His Word.
As FBC Wortham celebrate 150 years, they declare: this is not about us.
This is a celebration of what God has accomplished through generations of faithful believers.
We are commanded to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
We are called to love our neighbors likewise.

Pastor Jim; Closed the ceremony with a few words of inspiration and a challenge to grow in God's love and grace, followed by cutting the ribbon.
